Charlotte is a fast-growing city filled with young, educated professionals. It's the headquarters for national banks like Wells Fargo and Bank of America, making it the second-largest banking center in the United States. Also known as the ‘Queen City, Charlotte is home to several professional sports teams including the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and the CharlotteFootball Club. Charlotte is also the host of several big sporting events including the Wells FargoChampionship, Coca-Cola600, Duke’s Mayo Bowl, and the ACC football championship. Charlotte is located several miles east of the Catawba River and southeast of Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in North Carolina. If you travel three hours west of Charlotte, you’ll be headed towards the Blue RidgeMountains and if you head three hours east of the city you’ll find yourself in coastal beach towns like Wilmington. Charlotte is also a great location for destination trips to other cities like Atlanta, Charleston, and Savannah.
